QCPS Helps Female Political Activists Improve Leadership Skills

17.05.2016

Al Quds Centre for Political Studies (QCPS) organised a two-day workshop on "Developing Female Political Activists' Leadership and Teamwork Skills," for 40 members of political parties and councilwomen.
The workshop discussed factors necessary for the success of teamwork, including clear and implementable goals as well as a strategy and an action plan, cautioning participants that conflict, and obtrusion of opinion on others constitute a recipe for failure.
The seminar touched upon leadership styles: authoritarian, paternalistic, democratic, laissez-faire, transactional, and transformational. It highlighted competencies of a successful leader, including transparency, persuasion and influencing skill, innovation, and respecting freedom of expression and opinions of others.
Education and leadership expert, Dr. Thouqan Obeidat, participated in the workshop, which is part of the "Multi-Party Democracy" project, implemented by QCPS in cooperation with the European Union and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation to help build capacity of political parties.
